Alexander Valley 2011 A turn of Goode luck

Some say rolling snake eyes is bad news, but at Murphy-Goode we’re always feeling lucky. That’s why we picked “snake eyes” as the name for the best Zinfandel we make each vintage. This year, Snake Eyes Zin comes from the old-vine Ellis Ranch, contributing jammy red and black fruit character with excellent structure. Aging in French and American oak barrels gave the wine hints of toasty oak and spice. Here’s to making your own kind of luck!

Winemaker's Notes

The “Snake Eyes” designation is awarded to our best Zinfandel vineyards of the vintage making it a cult favorite of Murphy-Goode fans. The 2011 should will no different! We combined our long time favorites, the Trusendi Vineyard and the Ellis Ranch. These neighboring vineyards have a lot in common that help us create Zins that are to be envied. The Trusendi is a long time Liar’s Dice original that supplies those great notes of black raspberry and blueberry. The old vines at Ellis Ranch lend great structure and notes of black cherry and blackberry jam. The two combined are explosive! This fat, rich Zin full of spicy fresh fruit will keep you coming for more due to its velvety feel and long silky, sweet, graham cracker filled finish. This is what Zin is all about!
