DIY Holiday Wine Stoppers
Who says arts and crafts are just for the kids? These festive DIY holiday wine stoppers are a fun way to keep your creative spirits flowing this holiday season.
We are just going to assume that you're hosting an open door policy to family and friends this month to spread all your holiday cheer. Who doesn’t love an impromptu evening around the fire pit catching up with neighbors or inviting some friends over happy hour at the house? Since there is a slight chance that you’ll be uncorking a bunch of wine and may have some leftover, a DIY holiday wine cork provides you with the perfect festive solution to keeping the wine fresh!
This is about as easy of an adult art & crafts project as it gets, but it’s all about letting that inner child have its creative moment in the twinkling lights. If you already keep a stash of old corks for decor or future DIY purposes, then all you need is a selection of holiday toppers and a hot glue gun. Holiday fun doesn’t have to cost much!
DIY HOLIDAY WINE STOPPERS
Supplies:
- Old Wine Corks -or- Wine Cork Stoppers
- Hot Glue Gun
- Murphy-Goode Wine
- Assorted Holiday Toppers
- Ribbon
- Washi Tape
Directions:
- Plug in the hot glue gun and let stand to warm up.
- Select the holiday topper and apply a dollop of glue to the base. Immediately adhere to the end of the cork with the widest base. Press and hold for 30 seconds.
- Add decorative elements of washi tape or ribbon, if desired.
- Insert holiday wine stopper into bottle opening and you’re done!
At this rate, you mine as well throw a festive art & crafts party with your friends and uncork a bunch of delicious wine and make an array of these holiday wine stoppers along with the hand painted ornaments! If you’re heading over to someone else’s home for a gathering, I might suggest putting together a little gift bag containing a bottle of Murphy-Goode wine plus one of your handcrafted wine stoppers.
